🐽🐽🐽

Hi, my name is Polly, I’m the creator of Idream Pig 🐽 art, positivism & motivation.

I’m a traditional/ digital painter, graphic designer, health coach and social anthropologist with studies in art and history, keen on cultural diversity and development, behaviour & social science, medical & psychological anthropology, neuroanthropology, motivational and positive anthropology, anthropology of art, and art as therapy.

“Anthropology’s real contribution lies not in its literature but in its capacity to transform lives… I compared the anthropologist to a hunter: a dreamer, a follower of life’s ways who learns from observation and gets under the skin of things to know them from the inside.” -Anthropologist Tim Ingold

Always expanding knowledge about the concept of self-care, taking into account the bidirectional body-mind relationship, influenced (among others) by lifestyles, awareness level, spirit, emotions and thought patterns.

Painting and crafts were my childhood passions. During my studies one of the subjects I enjoyed the most was art. When I grew up I discovered the relaxing and therapeutic power of art (crafting, doodling and drawing, painting, journaling, handwriting…) and the benefits of creativity, positive affirmations, motivation and emotions. Something especially useful for those “tough days” we all have.

β€œEvery child is an artist; the problem is staying an artist when you grow up.” – Pablo Picasso

β€œEvery child is an artist; the problem is staying an artist when you grow up” – Pablo Picasso

β€œDon’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” – Andy Warhol

Since art is emotion, artistic creativity is a wonderful form of expressing ourselves. It is also a kind of therapy that allows us to enter flow states that improve our mood. Absorbed in a project you can reach states of meditative relaxation.

“Being creative can help avoid stress, free up mind space and improve self-development, which helps build self-esteem …… a small amount of creativity can help you cope with modern life.”

Life is full of challenges. We all have them. Art has helped me through my own deep valleys.” –Sarah Jio

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”- Pablo Picasso

β€œArt enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”- Thomas Merton

β€œDon’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”- Andy Warhol

Avoiding both negative and positive biases:

It’s not about being a Pollyanna, a blindly optimistic person or a pathological narcissist who takes the Lake Wobegon effect to the extreme, nor about being a negative Nelly. It’s about finding balance, managing the bad days and empowering the good ones, a kind of growth through alternating: full enjoyment, Wu Wei, Stoicism, Kensho and Satori (growth through momentary pain/growth through sudden insight).

“Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.”- Anthropologist Joseph Campbell

β€œCrying is all right in its way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later, and then you still have to decide what to do.” – C.S. Lewis

“Don’t mourn, organize!”- Activist Joe Hill

As you think you vibrate, as you vibrate you think and behave. Everything in life is energy that correlates with physical sensations in the body, our perceptions, thoughts and emotions influence our health and vibrational energy, affecting ourselves and the rest of the world. My Idream Pig designs are inspired by everything that I can imagine that transmits me good vibes and rise positive energy, frequency and vibrations. They are made with love and simplicity, its importance lies in the emotional impact, hoping to motivate and arouse smiles.

β€œA work of art which isn’t based on feeling isn’t art at all.” – Paul CΓ©zanne

β€œArt is not what you see, but what you make others see.” – Edgar Degas

“Art is the activity by which a person, having experienced an emotion, intentionally transmits it to others.” – Leo Tolstoy

β€œThe soul never thinks without an image.” – Aristotle

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.”- Buddha

“Once I understood that… the entire material world is nothing but vibration – I understood the importance of keeping my own vibrational levels high.”- Jane Fuller

Everything in Life is Vibration.”- Albert Einstein

β€œIf you wish to understand the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”- Nikola Tesla.

“β€˜Positive thoughts creates positive things. Smiles are contagious and kindness is free.” – Mike Dooley

Research is beginning to reveal that there is much more to positive thinking than simply being happy or displaying an optimistic attitude. Positive thoughts can promote the exploration of new skills, motivate to reach our goals, impact our mindset and behavior, connect with nature, with others and with our body’s needs. It makes us go from victimhood and blame to responsibility (internal locus of control). It protects us from the negative field and the low frequencies of others, and improves health by reducing stress (boosting our immune system and extending life).

Everyone has ever experienced how negative thoughts steal energy from our bodies. We have all experienced the feeling of energy drain after talking to a toxically negative person, (Energy vampire), and the feeling of being recharged with positive thoughts or after talking with positive people.

β€œWhen a happy person comes into the room, it is as if another candle has been lit.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Since everything in this world is energy and vibration, words and thoughts also have a vibratory charge.

Positivism does not deny negative emotions. Negative emotions should not be suppressed.

β€œWhat you resist not only persists, but grows in size.” – Carl Jung

Although positive emotions impact us physically, mentally and spiritually in a positive way, the full spectrum of emotions must be allowed without guilt or shame.

Actually being positive all the time is completely unrealistic, the brain has a tendency towards negativity for evolutionary reasons. Negativism and stress (through activation of the sympathetic nervous system and the fight or flight response) have their evolutionary advantages as a defence and survival mechanism, making us anticipate dangers and be able to avoid them.

The problem is when negativism becomes pathological and chronic, associated with less well-being, anxiety disorders and trauma dumping. When it doesn’t serve us. When we don’t gain strength, wisdom and resilience, but simply victimize ourselves. When we overthink and raise our stress levels (immunosuppressive effects) to the point of always being under the fight-flight-freeze-fawn stress responses. When it prevents us from connecting with ourselves and others. When we see the negative in everything. When the intrusions of negative thoughts prevent us from leading a fuller life. When it doesn’t allow us to recognize and savour the good things in life and to find the silver lining. When we exhibit a totally disproportionate external locus of control, we take everything personally and have a low tolerance for frustration. When the levels and frequency of negativity affect our health, wearing down our physical and etheric body.

β€œWhen we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” -Viktor E. Frankl

Nowadays we live in a world where “certain forces” seek to have a negative impact on our lives. Raise your vibrations and don’t let this happen!. Thanks to negativism we can realize that there are problems to solve. Thanks to positivism we can identify “toxic negative people” who tell us about “negative scenarios” that don’t really exist, and if they do exist it is because they have created them, fueled by fear and negativity (…).

“Humanity is at a crossroads and we must actively work to raise our consciousness and vibration for ourselves and those around us. When we are in active awareness of ourselves and cherish our environment, we can optimize our natural propensity for wellness of body, mind, soul and spirit. This is how true change begins.”- Daniel Yepez

“In this interconnected universe, every improvement we make in our private world improves the world at large for everyone. We all float on the collective level of consciousness of mankind, so that any increment we add comes back to us.”- Dr. David Hawkins

Like all exaggeration, neither toxic positivism nor toxic negativism.

We should not confuse positivism and a positive mindset with irrational optimism, hyper-optimism, or blind positivism. Positivity is more than just trying to feel good. It does not deny negative emotions. It is not blind to the negative or the real, but tries to face fruitfully the disadvantages, difficulties and uncomfortable things in life.

Unrealistic positivity ignores stress and problems. True healthy optimism recognizes that trial and error are a part of life. Recognizes that our stress levels and excessive negativity are harmful ,helping us to take steps to control it. You can’t control all your circumstances, but you can control your attitude toward them.

It is not about making positivity an obligation. The stress of having to be positive all the time and not being able to meet those expectations is also negative. That is why rational optimism does not pretend that you never allow negative emotions, nor does it deny reality. Instead, it tries to remind us that it’s okay to feel our emotions, but in a constructive way, looking toward new possibilities focusing on our strengths.

β€œThe most important thing you’ll ever wear is your attitude… Having a positive attitude isn’t wishy-washy, it’s a concrete and intelligent way to view problems, challenges, and obstacles…” -Jeff Moore

β€œChanging your mindset is a game changer.” – Frank Sonnenberg

Positivism invites us to develop emotional regulation, to rely on what makes us grow in adversity, to positively reformulate new possibilities by rethinking the situation and establishing new thought patterns. It urges us to recognize all emotions as a normal part of human existence, as in specific situations, negative emotions are also necessary for survival, change and growth, problem solving and decision making, critical thinking and venting (which, unlike trauma dumping, is a healthy way of sharing negative emotions to reduce stress).

Positivity helps us make peace with ourselves, promote resilience, and curiosity about what to learn from negative events we all experience. it has the ability to bring peace and joy by filling our energy levels. It enhances our strengths and our ability to handle life’s challenges. It guides us in the search for motivations and purposes. And above all, positive thoughts create bio cellular chemistry and calms the mind by activating our parasympathetic nervous system that promotes health.

Positivism encourages self-determination to accept difficult circumstances, to identify negative emotions, their triggers and their impact on our general well-being. This identification will help us to incorporate the necessary changes to improve our physical and emotional health.

The healthy and realistic optimist does not deny reality, adversity or failure but sees it as a normal part of life, drawing lessons for the future.

Positivism, positive and motivational affirmations and mantras, positive verbal and body language, surrounding yourself with positive people… All of these have a great positive impact on our lives, both physically and emotionally.

It’s not about “Good Vibes Only” , it’s about Good Vibes”, which is quite different. So, surround yourself with positivity.

IDream Pig 🐽 is a BIG dream. Dreaming of a better world through art, humor, play on words, optimism, and tips & hacks about things that would make our lives a little happier and healthier.

Dreaming of a better world inspired me to find a way to express creativity through art, DRAWING AND JOURNALING, hoping to motivate yourself.

I also would like to share notions that should be more present in our lives from an early age. One of the biggest problems of formal education is that it neglects the study of fundamental elements for a better life. Taking into account all the current problems associated with childhood and adolescence (such as school bullying, hyperactivity, existential emptiness, depression, pathological narcissism, anxiety, sedentary lifestyle, obesity, technological overexposure and lack of self-esteem, creativity, imagination, values, motivation and purpose…) we should be more familiar with concepts such as self-care, self awareness, mindfulness, social & emotional intelligence, positivism, justice and equality, critical thinking, rights and responsibilities, lifestyle choices, cooperation, connection with nature, etc.

Parents, for their part, also have the responsibility to bring children closer to these issues from an early age, and enhance their innate qualities, such as laughter, creativity, imagination, motivation … so that they never disappear. Motivational positivity, creativity and imagination not only bring us fun, but also help us find ways to improve aspects of our daily lives that make us feel better.

β€œI know my negative self-talk isn’t even mine. Negative self-talk is the result of faulty childhood programming. Beneath my conditioning is this magnificent creature: ME!” – Lisa Romano

“Most of our opinions about ourselves, about others, and about the supposed limits regarding our talents, our health, and our happiness were thoughtlessly accepted by us at an earlier point in our lives…everything we need to do to begin the process is to be aware.”- The Mother of Mindfulness, Ellen J. Langer

“.. most of our views of ourselves, of others, and of presumed limits regarding our talents, our health, and our happiness were mindlessly accepted by us at an earlier time in our lives… all we need to do to begin the process is to be mindful.”- Mother of Mindfulness, Ellen J. Langer

ΒΏQUIERES AUMENTAR TU ÁNIMO Y MEJORAR TU BIENESTAR A TRAVΓ‰S DEL ARTE, LA MOTIVACIΓ“N, EL POSITIVISMO Y LA DIVERSIΓ“N?

idream pig Hola mundo
Β‘HOLA MUNDO!

– AntropΓ³logo Joseph Campbell

– C.S. Lewis

“Β‘No lloren, organΓcense!” – Activista Joe Hill

Segun piensas vibras, segΓΊn vibras piensas y te comportas.

AsΓ comienza el verdadero cambio”- Daniel Yepez
